Rio de Janeiro Brazil. In a tragic turn of events, the main suspect, Alexander Alves Mendes , of having committed femicide against Sueli Pereira da Silva Sena in Rio de Janeiro was found dead in Jaconé, Saquarema.
The victim, Sueli Pereira da Silva Sena , a 43-year-old manicurist, was found dead in her apartment on Rua Camarista Méier, Engenho de Distancia, on the morning of Wednesday (28), with knife marks on her neck .
Neighbors pointed to Sueli's ex-husband as a suspect, who was allegedly seen leaving the condominium before they discovered the woman's tragic fate. Although firefighters were called to render aid, the victim was already dead when they arrived.
The authorities, including the Capital Homicide Police Station and the Civil Police, took over the investigation of the case. On Thursday morning (29), the Civil Police reported that Alexander Alves Mendes, the main suspect, was found hanged in Jaconé. Mendes was wanted to provide information about Sueli's death.
This tragic episode joins a series of cases this week in which the first reports suggest that a man committed femicide and subsequently took his own life. The authorities have not confirmed the degree of relationship between Alexander and Sueli, but the relationship between the two will be the subject of ongoing investigations .
Sueli Pereira da Silva Sena is remembered as the third victim of the week in similar circumstances in the region, reflecting a worrying increase in cases of feminicide that generates concern in the community.
