I remember visiting this one cliff in Acapulco that was notorious for stupid American and Canadian tourists diving off and getting killed because they didn't realise the water below wasn't deep enough. Have you seen those professional Mexican cliff divers? They're superhuman. No tourist could imitate those stunts on the first try. Similarly, this one idiot stoner from my high school once actually left his basement to grow marijuana in the national forests of Maine and got chased by a smuggler from Haiti who wasn't happy about a white man encroaching on the smuggling route, so the stoner kid jumped into a river to try to swim with the current and escape faster. He hit his head on a sharp rock and was very lucky he didn't even get a concussion or brain damage. He still had a gaping hole in his forehead that looked like a gunshot wound and required staple, but American football players experience much worse every day.
