On June 2, 2022, around 9:00 a.m., Olympic Division patrol officers responded to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” radio call in the 3000 block of 8th Street. As the officers responded to the area of the radio call, they observed a person matching the description of the suspect from the radio call. The officers immediately exited their vehicle to detain the suspect. The suspect fled on foot south on Berendo Street. The officers went in foot pursuit of the suspect. During the short foot pursuit, the suspect removed a handgun from his waistband and an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and continued running southbound into the parking lot of the shopping center on the northeast corner of Berendo Street and 8th Street. Seconds later, the suspect fell forward onto the pavement where he was taken into custody. A Rescue Ambulance (RA) unit was requested, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was performed by the officers while they waited for the RA unit to arrive. The RA arrived and pronounced the suspect deceased at scene. That suspect was later identified as 24-year-old Marvin Cua, a resident of Los Angeles.
Cua’s loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun was recovered at scene and will be booked as evidence.
No officers or bystanders were injured during the incident.
LAPD’s specialized Force Investigation Division responded to the scene and interviewed witnesses and supervised the collection of evidence by the Forensic Science Division.
The complete investigation will be reviewed by the Chief of Police, the Board of Police Commissioners, and the Office of the Inspector General to determine the thoroughness and accuracy of the investigation and whether the use of deadly force complied with LAPD’s policies and procedures. Additionally, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office who responded to the scene will review the subsequent FID investigation, evidence collected, and witness statements to determine if the force used by the officer was reasonable.
Incident happend at Los Angeles
Not going to lie, that was a pretty good shot.
Also funny that they have to be extra careful to his unconcious body, like faking death, He's pretty much a deadass.
