A Greenfield police officer stopped a vehicle for running a red light near South 35th Street and West Oklahoma Avenue. After initially pulling over, the driver - later identified as 31-year-old Tyran C. Lamb of Milwaukee - sped off when another police car arrived. Officers followed in pursuit.
Police deployed spike strips to attempt to stop the car, but Lamb continued driving until crashing into another vehicle near South 27th and West Becher streets.
After crashing, police ordered Lamb to show his hands 18 times while approaching his car. Lamb shot an officer through his car window.
"Please don't let me die, please don't let me die," the injured officer can be heard saying to the backup officer who treated his gunshot wounds.
Lamb exited his car and jumped over the injured officer while firing at him. Two other officers involved in the pursuit then shot and killed Lamb near the crash.
