I'm Brazilian, I live here, and I can say that this is not true! Brazil is a safe place, I've traveled to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and never had any problems. I'm from the south of the country, and it's even safer here. These things only happen to people who get involved with drugs. You have to be careful, the media distorts the image of a country, and Brazil is not that, it is a wonderful country, the best country to live well.
I'm from Brazil and I have to agree with most of this video, except for the part where it generalizes that this happens everywhere around here, it only happens more in favelas. And sometimes that even helps, nobody steals and steals here in the favelas for fear of what happens in the video happening to them. (Not defending drug dealers).
