Oaxaca, Oax. April 3, 2023. The Movement for Unification and Triqui Independent Struggle (MULTI) denounced that paramilitaries of the Movement for Unification and Triqui Struggle (MULT) murdered Ricardo González Guzmán, in Santiago Juxtlahuaca.

They reported that González Guzmán was a great member of this movement, originally from Yosoyuxi Copala, a bastion community of this organization, therefore, they demanded that the Oaxaca State Attorney General's Office (FGEO) carry out the necessary investigations to clarify this cowardly murder and stop the generators of violence in the Triqui region who have already been fully identified.

"Not satisfied with hindering the attempts to return the displaced from Tierra Blanca Copala, attacking entire communities that are part of our movement, trying to assassinate Macario García, a member of our political leadership on two occasions, and generating a climate of uncertainty and violence in the Triqui region; Today the caciques have taken the life of a Triqui brother, a sympathizer of our movement,” said the MULTI leadership.

Given this fact, they specified that they have been patient with the state and federal governments, have resisted the various attacks and violent provocations that the MULT has generated against them since they left the dialogue tables, however, they mentioned that this latest event where the life of one of their fighting brothers is taken away, forces them to take to the streets, to demand from the state what is rightfully theirs that has to do with justice.
