My guess is they immediately get knocked out and die painlessly. We'll never know tho..
If person who commited this act has some types of cardiovascular disease, it's really possible to die before touch the ground (jumping from high structures, like this showed on this video). In some cases happen also some lethal lethal collapse in some region of the bronchial tree or a terrible and lethal rupture of alveoli or even the lung tissue itself - or other structures of the respiratory system, all during those few seconds of free-fall. During the autopsies this is discovered - when these analyzed structures are not torn apart to prevent this - and, thus, the cause of death is recorded in the obituary.
In majority of cases, these people dies imediatly on the ground. In other case, they die after some seconds, minutes or hours. And, finaly, some of them are still alive "enjoying" a lot of physical or/and psycological consequences of this hard act.
