The first recorded homicide was that of Elenilson Garcez do Vale, 33, who was shot dead in the Cidade Olímpica neighborhood.

According to information from the Maranhão Military Police (PM-MA), the crime took place on Rua 18, close to a club, around 5 am. The victim was shot in the head and could not resist the injuries, going to death at the scene.

Elenilson Garcez lived in Vila Nestor, in the Cidade Olímpica region, and had no experience with the police.

There is still no information on the motivation and authorship of the crime. The case is being investigated by the Homicide and Personal Protection Superintendence (SHHP).

Triple homicide and attempted homicide in Estiva

The second case was registered in the Estiva neighborhood, where three people were killed and a fourth was injured and is in serious condition.

According to the PM-MA, the victims were at a snack bar, on Rua Nova, when seven people arrived in a car and a motorcycle, unidentified, and fired several shots at the four victims.

Three of them were shot in the head and could not resist the injuries and died on the spot.

The three dead were identified as: Thalyson Silva de Andrade, 20 years old; Cleverto Lima, 14 years old; and Luís Felipe Morais, whose age was not disclosed. According to the PM, the three were residents of Estiva and had no criminal record.

The fourth victim was identified as Mateus Marinho de Almeida, 27 years old. He was shot four times in the head and arms region, being rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to Djalma Marques Municipal Hospital (Socorrão I), where he is in serious condition.

Mateus Marinho is also a resident of Estiva and has no prior experience with the police.

After the crime, the suspects fled the scene and have not yet been arrested or identified. The case is also being investigated by the SHPP.
