Podcaster Keanu Thompson captures moment army vet is shot and his wife assaulted in NYC while on a date after arguing with another couple over a photo booth

• The victims had become embroiled in a dispute with another couple over a photo booth which escalated outside of the bar

  An army veteran was shot and his wife assaulted in New York City while on their first date since the birth of their child ten days ago, with the whole incident caught on a podcaster's livestream. 

  
  
  

  The NYPD said the 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman had been leaving Iggy's Bar in the Upper East Side just before 3am when the incident unfolded on Wednesday. 

  
  
  

  According to police, the couple had got into a verbal dispute with another pair which took a violent turn. 

  
  
  

  The attacker pulled a gun on the two and fired seven times, striking the victim on the inside of his left leg, while his partner sustained a cut to her face in the melee. 

  
  
  

  In an apartment upstairs, live streamer and comedian Keanu Thompson was in the process of drawing a close to an on-air conversation with a caller when gunshots rang out.
