Naked man crashes stolen Las Vegas police cruiser after fight with officer
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A naked man stole a police officer's cruiser and later crashed into another car late Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 11 p.m. to reports of a suicidal individual who was naked and in the road at Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo Drive, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
The man fought with an arriving officer and stole his marked patrol vehicle, a Ford F-150, leading to a chase that headed north to Rainbow Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue, police said.
That's where the man crashed the patrol car into another person's vehicle. LVMPD later said in a statement that the suspect, Clyde Cabulisan, ran a red light and crashed into the passenger side of 2012 Ford Explorer that was heading east on Hacienda.
Police say the suspect was taken into custody. Two people in the bystander's car were taken to UMC. LVMPD later said they were both in critical condition, after initially describing their injuries as non-life-threatening.
Cabulisan, 29, was also taken to UMC and his injuries were described as substantial. Jail records indicate he's facing charges of robbery, disobeying a peace officer, battery on a protected person and grand larceny of a motor vehicle.
The officer involved in the fight reported only minor injuries and was not transported.
