In June 2021, a viral video surfaced, capturing a dramatic confrontation on a New York sidewalk. The footage showed a man, identified as Tashawn Rodriguez, disciplining an alleged dog abuser by using the same method the abuser reportedly used on a dog.

The video depicts Rodriguez dragging the dog owner by a leash, a response to witnessing the dog owner abusing a pitbull by dragging it for three blocks with a "choker chain" around its neck, causing the dog's face to become bloodied

Following the incident, Rodriguez took steps to ensure the well-being of the dog. The dog, which was named Prada, received care and attention from Rodriguez. He set up a fundraiser to help care for Prada, mentioning that the dog's owner was in "bad shape" and "out of work." Rodriguez made sure that Prada was being well cared for, conducting regular check-ups and ensuring the dog was fed and walked daily. He also provided Prada with a new collar and a fresh cow bone.

Videos shared by Rodriguez showed Prada in better condition, happy and wagging its tail, indicating a significant improvement in the dog's situation.
