Woman kills her two daughters and takes her own life after not accepting the end of the relationship

Jéssica Silva do Nascimento is suspected of causing the death of her daughters on Pedra do Sal beach

A woman identified as Jéssica Silva do Nascimento, aged 33, is suspected of  causing the death of her two daughters  in the municipality of Parnaíba, on the coast of Piauí, on Tuesday night (19). Jéssica was found dead hours later with signs of suicide.

According to initial investigations by the Civil Police, she first caused a fire in her residence, located in the Raul Bacelar complex, where she lived with the two girls, Alice, 5 years old, and Letícia, 10 years old.

After starting the fire, the suspect left the house with her  two daughters on a motorcycle towards Pedra do Sal beach, where the two children were found unconscious. According to the  Fire Department, there is evidence that Jéssica drowned the children. Alice and Letícia were taken  to Nossa Senhora de Fátima Hospital, but they were already dead.

Hours later, Jéssica Silva was found dead in a bar near the beach , raising the main suspicion of suicide. According to the Military Police, there are messages indicating that she did not accept the end of the relationship  with her then partner, identified only as Paulo.

The commander of the PM Battalion on the coast of Piauí, Colonel Erisvaldo Viana Lima, assumes that the woman had a psychotic episode.

"She freaked out, she had a psychotic episode after her husband said he didn't want the marriage anymore. After the conversation, she set fire to the house, went to get a motorcycle and took her two daughters to Pedra do Sal beach,” commented the colonel.
