Young man killed by beating him with a bucket, turns out to be an egg seller

Roorkee: In Roorkee, Uttarakhand, an egg seller was brutally beaten to death with a bucket over a minor dispute. On receiving information, police reached the spot. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem.

Akash alias Shalu (35), resident of East Amber Pond of Ganganahar Kotwali area, is an egg seller near Shatabdi Dwar of IIT. On Monday night around 11 pm, Akash's friend got into an argument with some youth. During a minor dispute, Akash reached the spot to settle his friend's dispute. Meanwhile, the youth who were quarreling with their friend started attacking Akash.

He picked up a steel bucket kept nearby and attacked Akash on his chest and head, killing him. On receiving information, police reached the spot. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Senior Sub Inspector of Roorkee Kotwali Abhinav Sharma said that on the complaint of the family, a case has been registered against unknown attackers including accused Abhishek son of Mehak Singh, resident of Bindu Kharak Kotwali Jhabreda. Police have recovered the bucket involved in the crime.

According to the family members of deceased Akash, the police had reached the spot after getting information about the fight. But by then Akash was attacked by the attackers and seriously injured. Akash was taken to the Civil Hospital in a car for treatment. Where the doctors declared Akash dead during checkup. The family members allege that if the police had shown vigilance at the spot, all the attackers could have been caught. One attacker was caught by the family members and handed over to the police. If the police had realized the situation in time, perhaps Akash's life could have been saved and all the attackers could have been caught in the night itself.
