Upon the arrival of the police, a struggle began with the antisocial man, who threw one of the police officers to the ground and pointed him at his temple. Likewise, he shot a non-commissioned officer in the foot and then fired another shot that he hit in the back of the official who remained on the ground.

Despite this, the non-commissioned officer managed to rejoin and used his service weapon to respond to the individual's attack, leaving the latter seriously injured and dying minutes later at the Central Post.

In this regard, the Secretary of State stated that during the afternoon she visited “non-commissioned officer Mauricio Sandoval and 2nd Corporal Jorge Barrera, who were wounded by bullets on Friday night at Central Station. “Both are out of life-threatening risk and recovering .”
