A woman was the victim of a shooting murder after an argument at a convenience store, in the early hours of Friday, 19th, in the city of Itapecuru-Mirim.
The victim was identified as Layne Melo de Sousa dos Santos, aged 27.
Her boyfriend, Marcos Diogo Cabral, was also shot in the neck during the crime and was taken to a hospital in São Luís.
Witnesses told the police that the fight began when the couple, who were at a party at the Joyce station, tried to return some beer tokens purchased from the suspect's mother-in-law, who worked at the establishment's cash register.
However, the request was denied, resulting in an argument.
Shortly afterwards, the couple left the place on a motorcycle, but were followed by the woman's son-in-law on another motorcycle.
He then shot the victims several times.
Layne's companion fell off the motorcycle immediately, while she skidded the vehicle to the vicinity of a clinic in the center of the city, already seriously injured after being hit by at least two shots.
Police chief Cristiano Morita reported that witnesses were interviewed and the suspect, identified as Vitor Manuel, was arrested on the evening of the same day by police officers from the 28th BPM.
