The coal-laden train initially passed from Tanjung Enim, Muara Enim and was going to Palembang with driver Tri Wahyuni and assistant driver David.

Receiving this information, the East Prabumulih Police and the Prabumulih Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately went to the scene of the incident to carry out crime scene investigation and examined a number of witnesses there.
"Apart from examining witnesses and investigating the crime scene, members also immediately called an ambulance to evacuate the victim to hospital," he said.
Based on the results of the examination, information was obtained from the train driver that the resident of Sungai Medang Village, Cambai District, was initially seen lying on his back on the tracks. He was lying on his back with his head on the first rail and his feet on the second rail.
"According to the driver, when the train was about to pass there, the victim was sleeping on his back. On his back on two parts of the track," he said.
About 300 meters away when he was about to pass and saw this, the driver tried to sound the horn according to the existing SOP. Unfortunately, the victim, who was thought to be still conscious, was reluctant to leave the crossing, as if he was deliberately going to commit suicide.
"This caused the victim to die at the scene with a broken head (crushed) and a broken left leg that was crushed at the ankle," he said.
The police have also contacted the victim's family to immediately come to the hospital. The victim's body has been handed over to the family for burial.
"We have also communicated with the victim's family to come to the hospital and have taken the victim to the funeral home to be buried," he explained.
