This is all the fault of the United States. They fomented the Maidan Revolution and installed Zelensky as he would move towards the E.U. and NATO, crossing Russia's red line. Now, the U.S. isn't even allowing negotiations, or elections, keeping their puppet in power and throwing Ukrainians into the Russian meatgrinder, not giving them a choice.
Russia is now battle-hardened, they sacrificed hundreds of thousands of their people and billions of Roubles in weaponry but ended up developing countermeasures to both Himars rockets and Excalibur rounds, they even learnt how to intercept Ukrainian drone signals and hijack them, at first, they just crashed them but now they found out how to safely land them, disarm them and reuse for their own purposes and with a different set of radio signals the American-donated equipment cannot jam yet because no one thought of having to jam their own at some point. I'm obviously against the occupation but it's always interesting to see the tactics both sides develop in order to one-up their enemies, Ukrainians pioneered the use of unmanned aircraft, Russians have caught up and then some.
