Video released Monday shows a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department officer shooting and injuring a man along Beatties Ford Road in February.
The newly-released video supports a description and timeline of events originally released by police.
The shooting happened on Feb. 8. A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was using a "real-time crime camera" to monitor activity outside a business near Lasalle Street. The officer monitoring the camera saw the suspect, Tim Moore, pull out a gun and "waving it menacingly," according to testimony in court days later. Officials believed there was drug activity occurring.
Videos released Monday show Moore, 33, pulling the handgun with an extended magazine from his clothing
It was when Moore pulled the gun from his clothing that one of the CMPD officers, identified as Officer Atwood, perceived a threat and fired his weapon striking Moore in his right arm.
After being shot, Moore falls to the ground, where officers surround him and call for an ambulance
