A homeless man, identified as 'Mascarita', was beaten for stealing a shovel; to teach him a lesson, residents of Macuspana, Tabasco, also cut off his hands.

An act of barbarism occurred in the municipality of Macuspana, Tabasco, when a man who allegedly stole a shovel was beaten and his hands mutilated outside an OXXO store.

The incident occurred when “Mascarita”, as the alleged thief is known, was chased by some men on motorcycles. According to witnesses, they managed to catch up with him, beat him and cut off both of his hands.

Later, they abandoned him in the parking lot of a convenience store on Francisco I. Madero Street, in the Centro neighborhood of the municipal capital of Macuspana.

In a video circulating on social media, the homeless man is seen lying on the floor of an OXXO parking lot, trying to get up but unable to do so.


In the clip, a woman can be heard exclaiming: “They cut off both of his hands!” However, so far, the authorities have not taken a position on the atrocious act.
