Fatal Accident Between Truck and Scoopy Driver in Tanah Laut, One Dead and One Broken Leg

Metrokalsel.co.id, Pelaihari – A fatal accident occurred on Jalan A Yani, Pabahanan Village, Pelaihari District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province, Wednesday (11/9/24) night at around 23.50 WITA.
The accident involved a Mitsubishi DA 8047 CS truck driven by Suryadi, a Banjarbaru resident, and a Honda Scoopy DA 2667 OL driven by Haikal (16) riding pillion with Akbar (21).
Tanah Laut Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Junaeddy Johnny through Head of Traffic Unit Iptu Elfike Reputri, said the accident occurred from a herd direction.

“The Mitsubishi truck (Suryadi) was driving from Banjarmasin towards Pelaihari and the Honda Scoopy was driving from Pelaihari towards Banjarmasin”, Thursday (12/9/24) Morning.
The Scoopy driver wanted to overtake the car in front of him, when at the scene because the distance was so close to the truck, the collision could not be avoided.
Which resulted in Haikal (16) suffering a broken left leg, right leg and a broken neck so that he died on the spot. While Akbar (21) suffered a broken right leg and bleeding.
The victim was then evacuated to the Haji Boejasin Hospital Pelaihari using the Tanah Laut PMI ambulance and Rescue 911 Tala Jaya.
“The traffic accident has been handled by the Gakkum Laka Unit of the Tanah Laut Police Traffic Unit,” he said. (ady)
