A terrible incident occurred on September 22 in one of the houses on Mendeleyev Street in Omsk, when a local resident with a hammer committed a brutal attack on his own mother.

According to law enforcement agencies, the 45-year-old man, being in a state of severe alcohol intoxication, suddenly fell into a delirious state. He imagined that his 66-year-old parent was possessed by an evil spirit. Seized by this irrational idea, he grabbed a hammer and with furious rage brought down a hail of blows on the elderly woman.

Despite the severe head injuries she received - more than 40 hammer blows - the victim somehow managed to get out of the apartment and call her neighbors for help. They immediately called an ambulance. The victim is currently in the intensive care unit with a diagnosis of "severe traumatic brain injury", her condition is assessed as critical.

A criminal case for murder has been opened against the attacker. The investigation continues to clarify all the circumstances of this outrageous crime, committed on the basis of alcohol psychosis.
