A man died after being shot at a nightclub on Avenida Mauro Ramos, in downtown Florianópolis , on Tuesday morning (8). Information from the Military Police (PM) indicates that the victim was a customer and the murder occurred after a dispute with security guards.

The crime took place around 6 am and the shot was fired by a police officer who was at the scene and who intervened in the fight caused, supposedly, by a disagreement over the price of the order.

"A fight started there, some guys beat up a security guard. A police officer, a soldier who was there, ended up intervening in the fight and, defending security, fired a shot and the man died," reported Lieutenant Colonel André Rodrigo Serafin, commander of the 4th Battalion.

The Civil Police are investigating the incident, including interviewing the police officer who showed up at the police station immediately after the incident. The names of the victim and the police officer involved have not been released.

The PM published a note about the incident:

"On Tuesday, the 8th, at 6:42 am, a squad from the 4th Military Police Battalion (BPM) responded to a case of disagreement and fight between some men at the exit of a nightclub located on Av. Mauro Ramos, in the center of Florianópolis, with one death."

"The Military Police of Santa Catarina (PMSC) through the 1st Regional Command of the Capital is investigating the facts and later, after all the information from the witnesses, an Official Note will be produced to better clarify the occurrence, which is still ongoing."
