A man died instantly after being hit by a train. The man is suspected of committing suicide by jumping onto the railroad tracks at the Laswi level crossing, Bandung City and being hit by a passing Commuter Line train.

From the video circulating, the man jumped to the crossing when a train was passing. As a result of the incident, the victim died instantly.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Ayep Hanapi confirmed the incident. Ayep said the incident occurred on Tuesday (10/15/2024) at around 17.42 WIB at the Laswi level crossing KM 158+300, Kiaracondong-Bandung road.

"The Bandung Raya Commuter Line train driver reported to the train control center regarding this incident, and made an extraordinary stop for a moment on the section of the road to check the locomotive and train assembly," said Ayep.

"After being declared safe, the CL Bandung Raya train continued its journey to the next station," he continued.

Before the incident, according to Ayep, the train driver had sounded the motto 35 in the form of a locomotive flute when he realized there were people in front of him. However, the locomotive flute was not heard, so the incident was unavoidable.

"The male victim with the initials DB, a resident of Jalan Kacapiring Dalam RT.7 RW.3, suffered serious injuries and has been treated by the local police and related agencies and taken to Sartika Asih Hospital," he said.
