A fatal accident on the Coral Highway claimed the life of a woman and left two minors injured when a truck hit the rear of the vehicle they were traveling in, between the La Romana International Airport and the entrance to the city.


Margarita Martinez died instantly at the scene of the incident. Two minors, aged 4 and 9, were taken to the Central Romana Medical Center with injuries to the frontal region, one of them suffering from head trauma.


The units of the National Emergency Attention System 911 attended the emergency. Liset Vázquez, aged 36, and another minor aged 11, also occupants of the vehicle, were unharmed after the impact.


The area recorded two other incidents that night: the overturning of an armored truck and the running over of a motorcyclist by a van that fled the scene. Digesset units, the National Police and the medical examiner Dr. Benito Kelly attended the scene.
