The circumstances were recorded by the camera of one of the agents present at the scene, capturing the moment the team arrived at the residence. After breaking down the door, they found the man lying down, with their son in the same bed. When they ordered him to release the child, he took a knife and threatened his son, at which point one of the officers fired a shot.
As reported by the superintendent of the Municipal Guard, Fernando Ribeiro, the action was a necessary measure to prevent the child's life from being taken. He stressed that they followed the established protocols and that the shooting was crucial to neutralize the imminent threat to the child's life.
Despite the rapid intervention of the teams of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), Palacini died at the site. On the other hand, the child was rescued without any injuries.
