A Civil Police investigator was executed in the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém. The crime was recorded by security cameras on Saturday morning (10). A motorcycle used in the crime was found abandoned by municipal guards near the Santa Izabel cemetery.

Police officer Ediel Bittencourt was killed on Travessa Augusto Correa. In the camera footage, he appears leaving a small grocery store when an armed bandit appears and starts shooting.

According to the Municipal Guard, the motorcycle was reported stolen in the state of Maranhão. The criminal tried to steal other vehicles to escape, but was unsuccessful and fled in an alternative transportation van.

As of early afternoon, no one had been arrested. The police are searching for and locating the criminal.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that they are investigating the circumstances of the death. Information that may help with the investigation should be forwarded to the Disque Denúncia hotline, at number 181.
