GEORGIA — New video appearing to show a Rockdale County teacher hitting a student at Salem High School has sparked anger online.
The incident took place shortly after 10am Monday, according to the student who captured the incident on video, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The footage shows a teacher and student arguing at a desk.
“No n###a cuz I ain’t say s##t to you bro,” the student says in the video before gathering his things.
As the student approaches the door, the teacher can be heard cursing at the youth, ordering him to “sit down somewhere” — before appearing to hit the pupil who subsequently falls to the ground.
Rockdale County Schools is investigating the incident.
Wether the teacher or the student will face any sanctions is unclear at this time, but sources say the teacher could face battery charges, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
