this looks like coalition aggression, a small group attacking a lone target to gain status, dominance, or reputation with minimal personal risk. the initial hesitation is normal fear and uncertainty. but once they sensed control and no immediate punishment, the risk felt low, so they escalated. in groups, responsibility diffuses, empathy gets overridden by threat/status motives, and peer approval rewards brutality so each step makes the next step easier. its not courage, its status seeking that can spiral into lethal outcomes

Judging by the look on his face that were his "friends" and he had no idea they were going to actually kill him. Easily the goriest part about this video is just that, and the camera guy seems to be next because they threaten him as well, just a normal looking kid trying to prove himself among thugs. No sympathy here , just the betrayal is fucked
