It's a good thing that guy didn't use the sharp part of the axe. If he did, this video would have been a lot nastier.
Never underestimate the effectiveness of running around & around the same car to avoid a single attacker (if you can run at a speed at least somewhat comparable to said attacker). It looks/sounds ridiculous, but it can work. If the attacker begins climbing on the car, you should have enough time to quickly run to another car in order to maintain some distance. Often times in public another vehicle will be nearby (this is where being aware of your surroundings becomes important). This can be very frustrating for the attacker, and how much time does he really want to spend in public chasing after another person with a deadly weapon like an axe, knife, machete, etc in their hands (obviously a gun is a game changer)? Clearly this plan would work for overweight/elderly people in the same way all other physical activities work for them (not at all).
