A month ago, the whole of Poland was shocked by the tragedy in Poznań. It was there that Zbysław C. attacked 5-year-old Maurycy with a knife. The boy did not survive. Now the accused wanted to be released.

The tragedy took place on October 18. 71-year-old Zbysław C. had been accosting people on the streets of Poznań since the morning and had a knife with him. He threatened one man and shouted to a shop assistant that he was going to kill someone .

Unfortunately, no one reacted in time and a moment later a tragedy occurred. On the street, he approached a group of preschoolers and attacked 5-year-old Maurycy with a kitchen knife.

The boy was immediately taken to hospital, but died shortly after the attack.

Irrational behavior

Zbysław C. behaved irrationally after the murder and arrest. He laughed and shouted "Ave Putin". He was taken to hospital and two days later he was taken to jail. There, doctors said he could be questioned. He was charged and sentenced to 3 months' arrest .

During the interrogation, the accused cried and stated that he did not remember anything. He said he was a good man. It turned out that the 71-year-old was undergoing neurological treatment and was also an alcoholic.

While in custody, Zbysław C. is under special protection. - This is a case in which most people are outraged, so it is obvious that you must be under special protection in a pretrial detention center. We must also remember that this is a sick person, emphasized prosecutor Katarzyna Ryżyńska-Banasiak.

– You are in the hospital ward of the prison, he has already been examined by expert psychiatrists, and next week he will also be examined by an expert psychologist. Only later will an opinion be prepared, she added.

The accused filed a complaint against the arrest. However, the District Court in Poznań decided that he belonged behind bars . – The court shared our arguments that there was a fear of influencing witnesses if you were free, there was a threat of a life sentence, and above all, there was a justified fear, due to the threats made earlier, that you could commit another crime against life and death if you were free. health - explained prosecutor Ryżyńska-Banasiak in an interview with "Fakt".
