MIAMI - Miami-Dade police have released surveillance video of the man sought in the shooting of a liquor store clerk, as they struggled over a bottle on Thursday afternoon.
Police are asking the public for help with any information that will lead to his arrest. They say the man is armed and dangerous.
It happened at the Jensen's Liquor store located at 790 N. Miami Avenue.
Police said the subject entered the store to make a return and when it was denied, he grabbed a bottle without paying for it and as he attempted to flee the store, a clerk tried to retrieve it and a struggle ensued.
Once outside, the struggle continued and that is when the subject shot the clerk in the abdomen.
In the surveillance video, the clerk is seen lifting his shirt after being shot. Then, the subject is seen with a gun in hand, as he gets on a blue bike and flees the area, but not before picking up the liquor bottle he had taken from the store and taking it with him.
The clerk was rushed to an area hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
CBS News Miami cameras showed one vehicle in the parking lot of the store with a bullet impact on its side.
Police remind citizens that, "No amount of property is worth your life."
"This person is considered armed and dangerous," authorities said.
Anyone with information on the subject's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477 or (305) 471-TIPS.
