"Omaha police have identified a woman who died Friday following a nearly head-on crash while driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 680 in west Omaha.
N.S, 40, of Omaha, died at the Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy, an Omaha police spokesman said Sunday. The driver of another vehicle, R.R, 40, of Omaha, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were called to the area of I-680 and Blondo Street at 9:46 p.m. for a multiple-vehicle crash. Investigators determined S. was traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-680 without her headlights.
S. narrowly missed colliding with a Nebraska State Patrol trooper, the spokesperson said. She then sideswiped a Chevrolet Cruze before colliding "nearly head-on" with a white Chrysler minivan driven by R."
