A brawl provoked the attack in the bar "Medallo Reggaeton Club" in Cuernavaca, since one of those involved left the place and returned moments later to begin to perpetrate the terrible crime.

This was reported during a conference on Monday, March 4 by Alicia Vázquez Luna, head of the Secretary of Citizen Protection and Assistance of Cuernavaca (Seprac), who said that the possibility that this may have been the work of members of organized crime has not been ruled out.

"Inside the bar some people argued, there was a scuffle and after that one of the subjects appeared to leave and returned with others and shot. Due to the use of the weapons and the evidence gathered at the place, it is presumed that they are organized crime groups," he said.

The events occurred in the early hours of March 2 at the nightclub, located on Potrero Verde street at the corner of Plan de Ayala avenue and as of the last official report, provided by Vázquez Luna, there are two people dead and seven injured, of which two are in serious condition and the rest have been discharged.

He mentioned that, within the collected material that was delivered to the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), there are videos captured by private video surveillance cameras, among others, which would help to find those responsible.

"Regarding the investigation, this Secretariat provided all the data and all the information that was collected on Saturday morning so that the Public Prosecutor has the opportunity to find those responsible, certainly, the information provided was very valuable and we believe that this will allow the MP to obtain arrest warrants for the people who attacked and ended the lives of two people," he said.

Other bars have been targets of crime in the municipality of Cuernavaca, such is the case of "La Carrilera", located downtown and which continues to operate after two acts of violence, a direct attack to its facilities without injuries and another where a man lost his life.

The Regulatory Department will be in charge of checking that the nightclubs do not exceed their hours of operation.

The head of Seprac indicated her interest in suspending the operation of bars in the city, however, she acknowledged that it is not her power.

"I would like to suspend all (the bars) but it is not within my faculties, it will be the directorate of regulatory verification and licenses will be in charge of making the necessary inspections and if in their judgment it is feasible to sanction them or withdraw their permits."

However, he added that, for his part, he will continue with the "Operativo Espiral" (Spiral Operation), to inspect bars in order to detect antisocial behavior in them.

On the other hand, during the same press conference, it was informed that in the last week, the preventive agents of the capital city of Morelos arrested 53 people for various crimes and administrative offenses, nine were taken to the Public Prosecutor's Office and 44 were brought before the Civic Judge.
