The night before, on March 26, in the Kalininsky Rayon of Chelyabinsk, the driver of a Volvo V50 foreign car hit a pedestrian at full speed who was trying to run across the road at a red traffic light. Footage of the accident was captured on city surveillance cameras.

Everything happened at 22:52 near the house number 30 on Rossiyskaya Street (intersection with Pobedy Avenue).

— According to preliminary data, an unidentified driver, driving a Volvo V50 car, hit a pedestrian crossing the roadway at a controlled pedestrian crossing at a traffic light prohibiting signal, after which the unidentified driver left the scene of the accident, — commented the city Traffic Police. — As a result of the accident, a pedestrian, a 25-year-old man, died on the spot from his injuries.

The footage from the cameras shows that the young man was walking on a red light. The driver, trying to avoid a collision, went to the left, but the frightened pedestrian also took two steps back, which led to irreparable consequences. A foreign car with traces of an accident was found near the scene of the emergency. Now the traffic police are looking for the driver.
