A tragic story rocked the Pasar Jambi area, Jambi City, when two parking attendants were involved in a deadly incident. One of them died as a result of a knife stab in the left chest. The victim was named Ridwan, while the perpetrator named Yanto was arrested in an attempt to escape to West Sumatra using a motorbike.
This heartbreaking incident occurred after the two of them promised to resolve their problems behind the KONI Jambi stadium the previous Monday, at around 14:00 WIB.
The motive, according to the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Jambi Police, Commissioner Indar Wahyu, was a dispute regarding parking space in the Jambi Market area.
"The two of them knew each other and had an agreement. This parking space was supposed to belong to the victim, but because of an argument with the perpetrator, they met near KONI," explained Indar, Tuesday (30/4/2024).
A tragic incident occurred when an argument broke out between the two. Yanto, using a sharp badik type weapon, stabbed Ridwan in the chest on the left side. Ridwan suffered a fatal stab wound, only one stab but deep enough that the victim's life could not be saved.
After his actions, Yanto tried to escape to West Sumatra using a motorbike. However, his efforts were thwarted by the Jambi Police and Market Police teams supported by the Jambi Regional Police Resmob.
"We arrested him in Tembesi. He swapped motorbikes and tried to escape with that vehicle," he concluded.
